Gita Kavar is a life-long believer in the benefits of Ayurveda having been raised in a practicing family which informed her approach to health and food throughout her life.
From 2006 she has formally studied under various luminaries of Ayurveda in the West, such as Dr Ajit, Dr Vasant Lad, Dr Rama Prasad, Ayushakti Ayurveda and more recently, Dr Bosco Paul and Dr Sattish Kumar. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Ayurveda.
After a professional career in IT and whilst raising her three children, Gita made a natural shift to living Ayurveda more consciously through formal study and practice. Over time, she has increasingly incorporated Ayurveda's ancient prescriptions for living into her daily life so that they have become second nature. She believes in “walking the talk” through personal practice so that she may more effectively convey Ayurveda's message to her clients with conviction and integrity.
Gita takes a didactic approach during her in-depth consultations as she supports her clients on their journey to optimum health. Her experience covers a broad spectrum of conditions ranging from digestive, upper respiratory, musculoskeletal, hormonal, skin, weight loss and women's health issues. She aims to get to the root cause of the problem to bring about lasting results through dietary and behavioural change, augmented by body therapies and aspects of panchakarma. She is, however, a firm believer in the adage: prevention is better than cure.
Gita is excited by Ayurveda’s growing popularity and the meeting of minds with allopathy, demonstrated in the evolving fields of integrative and functional medicine in the USA. As one of her favourite teachers Jai Dev Singh says, the principles of Ayurveda are so simple that you can explain them to a child, yet so sophisticated that you can study Ayurveda for the rest of your life and never get to the end. With this sage insight driving her, Gita is inspired to empower and serve her clients with dedication.
